This is a unique and fairly firm massage to the head, neck shoulders and face, which stimulates circulation to the hair follicles and scalp, it encourages lymphatic drainage thereby removing any build up of toxins in the area and helping to boost the immune system.

The massage procedure relieves tension in the neck and shoulders etc, utilising pressure points to further relieve pain and stiffness in the area treated.

Treatment takes approximately half an hour to perform with the client seated on a low backed chair and can be carried out quickly and easily in lunch hours at the office or at home as well as in the therapist's treatment room.

Reiki

This involves a very gentle touch with no manipulation or pressure placed on the body.  The client is fully clothed and a blanket is placed over the body for comfort.  The practitioner will work from the head to the feet and back up to the head.  Traditionally the client is asked to roll over when the practitioner reaches the feet, however often the client is so relaxed that it can be an interruption to the process.

During a reiki treatment the client will experience a deep sense of relaxation and peacefulness.  Generally the treatment will last for one hour, however, if the practitioner feels the need to continue she/he will use their judgement as to continue longer or not.

As a river finds its own pathway, so also reiki moves to where it is needed on a physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual level.

After a reiki treament you may feel as though a heavy burden has been lifted off you and a sense of buoyancy and cheerfulness emerges.  As with all stress related disorders, the immune system is strengthened with relaxation and many times a sense of calm and well being is experienced.  Some people have had significant improvement with just one treatment depending upon the condition.
